Mitsui Garden Hotel Kumamoto

  • From Kumamoto Station
    • 11 minutes by tram, 5 minutes walk - Get off at Keitokuko-mae.  (170 yen)
    • This was the method we chose, and it was a good way to experience the tram. You can tap in and out with an IC chip card such as Suica/Pasmo.

• Review:
  • It was cheaper than Fukuoka, and the beds were wider and everything was there, so it was good. 
  • The building is a bit old, but it was well-maintained and clean, so it was good. 
• Price: 
  • The price for one night was 8,370 yen, which was cheaper than Fukuoka.  
• Pros:
  • Amenities can be taken as much as you need. (Personally, I liked that you didn't have to take what you didn't use)
  • It was close to the city center, so it was good for shopping arcades and sightseeing in Sakuramachi. 
  • Line Pay is available. (Good to use Line Pay with the Naver app when you don't have cash!) 
  • The surrounding area was quiet, so I was able to sleep soundly. 
• Accommodation tip:
  • The convenience store is relatively far away (about 4 minutes walk), so it's good to buy something on your way back from sightseeing. 
  • If you ask for a taxi, they will call the nearest taxi company by phone. (It seems that you can't call a taxi with the Diddi app like in Fukuoka, so you have to call by phone.) 

There was enough space to spread out your luggage, and the bed was semi-double, so it was big enough for one person. 

The bathroom is clean and well-maintained! The water pressure is also strong.

Recommended for those who want to be near tourist attractions but not in the heart of the tourist area!
