After purchasing the Turtle Pillow (꼬북베개) and using it for a week, I experienced neck and shoulder pain, stiffness in the back of my neck, and even occipital neuralgia.
Individual experiences may differ, but the firm Turtle Pillow (꼬북베개) may cause discomfort if it doesn't suit the user.
To alleviate my occipital neuralgia symptoms, I'm currently using a softer pillow, and I recommend considering whether the Turtle Pillow (꼬북베개) is right for you before making a purchase.
I often have trouble sleeping, and I haven't found the right pillow yet. Based on the rave reviews I saw in Facebook/Instagram ads, I decided to give the Kobok Pillow a try.
[Price Information + Discount Coupon Information] First of all, the price wasn't cheap. One pillow costs 78,000 won, and it was 59,000 won on the official website until June 24th. (As of June 17th, it's now 49,900 won ㅠ) I bought it for 39,825 won by applying a 10% KakaoTalk Plus Friend coupon + a 25% PAYCO discount coupon on the website. (It seems like you can get it cheaper now because the original price has gone down ㅠ)
After looking around, it seems like using the PAYCO coupon is the cheapest way to buy it.

[One Week Usage Review] (+Shocking Conclusion) Day 1: Unboxing the simple box and contents ㅇ
When I lay down, there was a slight gap between my neck and shoulders, and a slight gap in the middle of my neck, but I thought it would be okay if I got used to it, and I hypnotized myself to sleep. They say it's designed so it's okay to sleep on your side too ^^ Absolutely can't sleep on my side. Maybe it was a placebo effect, but I felt refreshed when I woke up. My neck felt a little strained because of the gap between my shoulder and neck, but my head didn't hurt.
Day 2: When I first lay down on it, it felt like lying down at the hair washing section of a hair salon, but with a slightly higher support underneath haha So, I thought that as I continued to adapt, I'd have to lower that support, and my neck would inevitably stretch haha. The pillow seemed high, and I felt uncomfortable because the space between my neck and shoulder kept opening up. When I woke up, sure enough!!! I had pain in the area between my neck and shoulder. Other than that, just like yesterday, the pillow kept my head stable, so my head didn't hurt, and the side of my neck didn't hurt either. Day 3: Huh? My neck doesn't hurt! To be precise, it's not completely gone, but it feels like I've adapted a lot! Maybe because it's Saturday morning and I slept a lot, my head didn't hurt, and I woke up feeling refreshed without any shoulder pain! Did I adapt to it? Hehe Day 4: As expected, the side of my neck didn't hurt, but the back of my neck hurt when I tilted my head back. I thought that whether or not this pain would go away after about a week of adaptation would be the key. Day 5: I couldn't sleep, and the part of my neck that was being pressed kept bothering me, so I almost threw it away, but I endured and slept. I believed that it would take about a week to adapt. I saw a review somewhere that this pillow caused snoring, and I think I understand what they meant. The back of my neck felt pressed, and my head was tilted down, so it felt like I didn't have enough space to breathe. When I woke up, my neck felt a little stiff, but otherwise, I felt refreshed. Day 6: The neck area was still pressing and bothering me. I even wondered if my neck was short. ^^ haha I feel refreshed when I wake up in the morning, but the area between my neck and head was stiff all day.
Day 7: I woke up with a stiff back of my head, and a tingling sensation in my right ear, like an ear infection. I went to the ENT. It's neuralgia, and they said it's a symptom that occurs when nerves are compressed in people with a forward head posture or poor posture. I searched the internet.
Hard pillows and occipital neuralgia haha What is this, Doctor? Occipital neuralgia? It's caused by sleeping on a hard pillow?
[Conclusion] It may vary from person to person, but... the Kobok Pillow doesn't seem to suit me. I think I got neuralgia because I stubbornly tried to force myself to adapt to it ㅠ Now I'm using a soft pillow to reduce the neuralgia..! (The tingling sensation disappeared the very next day after switching to a soft pillow)
From the reviews, it seems like it works for many people, and if I were one of those people, I don't know about fixing forward head posture or eliminating trapezius muscle pain, but I guess it would be someone who sleeps well because their head is locked in place! It's like a prevention for tossing and turning...
It depends on the individual! Try it out yourself and buy it at the cheapest price possible!!! (But please don't stubbornly continue to sleep on it ㅠ)
