VietJet Love & Hate (Korea->Phu Quoc) Seat Selection Review

We booked a flight from Incheon to Phu Quoc on November 3, 2023, and the return flight.
We booked it on Trip.com on July 16th for 352,900 won per person for a round trip.
Departure and arrival times are Incheon 01:45 → Phu Quoc 05:35.

As an aside, after making the payment, the price suddenly doubled, and we had no idea why...
It seems like it was because the area is becoming a popular tourist destination.

So, getting to the point, why VietJet Love & Hate!

VietJet has a very, very narrow legroom (space between seats), so for tall adult men, it's really a pain to sit for 6 hours, and
the seats are also so hard that your butt will hurt if you sit for too long.
And because of the narrow legroom, you can't even lean back.

So! We booked emergency seats as an additional service.

It cost 14,401 won per person each way.

However...
The flight changed in the middle, and the emergency seat booking was canceled, and when I checked the VietJet site, it wasn't assigned.

When I called VietJet Korea, they said we booked through Trip.com, so it's not their homepage and asked us to contact Trip.com. (Those who booked on the official website seem to have their seats reassigned by phone)

So, I emailed VietJet headquarters and about 5 days later, I got a reply asking what seat I wanted, so I told them a few seats I wanted and they reassigned them. After that, I checked the VietJet website and it was assigned correctly.
If you are going to contact VietJet headquarters by email, it's better to inquire at once with a few desired seats.

But luckily for us, the inquiry and processing was relatively quick, so the seats were reassigned, but if the seats were all gone after they were released, there would be nothing we could do... It seems like you can't get a refund for additional services... (Found it in the Phu Quoc cafe)

So, a tip for those who book VietJet emergency seats is:

1. Book on the VietJet official website so that the Korean branch can respond quickly
2. Frequently check travel cafes, such as the Phu Quoc cafe, to see if there is any news about flight numbers changing
3. If the flight number has changed, check the website to see if the seats have been released. If so,
- If you booked through VietJet's homepage, call the Korean branch
- If you booked from somewhere other than the homepage, send an email to the headquarters address with the reservation number + desired seat number and ask them to reassign the seats in English.

But, constantly worrying about all of this is so tiring, so
I think I'll book Jeju Air or Korean Air next time. ㅎ... VietJet is really a love-hate relationship...


And the twist! The seats were released again the day before departure... ! ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ
We arrived at the airport with a huff, and we thought we should respond properly if they said there were no emergency seats left! But
it wasn't the emergency seat we booked, but luckily, there were other emergency seats left, so they let us switch. Whew, Whew...
But what if other seats weren't available? !! What if they didn't give us a refund? !! I think I would be so angry... There were many stories like that on the cafe, so I wasn't sure what would happen... It's too much, isn't it?




I was hungry before getting on the plane, but luckily, there was a Dunkin' Donuts in the airport with sandwiches, so I bought some.
This is also very popular, so there may not be a lot of it, so if you're hungry, find Dunkin' Donuts quickly!

Laon Spa Airport Pickup Service

I found out about the airport pickup service to Laon Spa the day before, so I booked the pickup service and spa in advance.
If you use Laon Spa, they will provide free pickup from the airport to Laon Spa and one-time sending from Laon Spa to your desired location.

When you get off the plane and get your luggage, the airport is small, so there is only one exit to get out of, and
there is a Phu Quoc Ghost Airport desk on the left. Go there and tell them the name of the Laon Spa reservation, and they will take you to the car.

We arrived at the airport around 5:30 in the morning, and it took about 1-1.5 hours to get our luggage and get into the pickup car.

Later, when I got a pickup service from Laon Spa to King Kong Mart, it wasn't this kind of big car, but they took me in a 6-seater(?) car.

Thanks to this, we arrived at Laon Spa comfortably!

It was around 7:30 when we arrived, and
the earliest spa time we could book was 9:30, so we had to kill about 2 hours.

Since there's a restaurant nearby that opens at 7am,
we left our luggage anywhere in Laon Spa (we were told it was okay via KakaoTalk), went to the restaurant and had breakfast.

We ordered pho, cha gio (spring rolls), and fried rice.
It was a taste that everyone could enjoy! (It wasn't particularly amazing or anything)

And then we went to see the sights and walked towards the beach.
If you have some time before your massage reservation, it's a good idea to check out the beach.


It's the path to the beach next to the Best Western Premier Sonasea Phu Quoc.

And then it was time, so we came in and got a massage.
You can choose the areas you want from the checklist.
I checked the shoulder and neck areas, but it didn't seem like they focused on those areas.
But I think it's okay to just ask for more of that area. (I'm a huge I, so I just mumbled mumbles ㅠ)

Going up to the room!

Change clothes and soak your feet in this warm lemon water, and they will come soon.
The massage was thorough and refreshing, and if there was any pain or tenderness, they would listen to you.
I felt so refreshed after it was over. I got a massage twice at Laon Spa and both times were great!

If you are a Phu Quoc Ghost member, you get a 20% discount, and if you write a Google review, you get an additional 10% discount, so we got both discounts.
But if you don't know, they won't tell you anything, so make sure you know both!


I recommend Laon Spa as a Phu Quoc morning course! ㅎㅎ
